RAND Corporation's CAST seeks an AI Policy Research Resident, Associate or Specialist to drive frontier AI policy research. You will conduct analyses, draft policy-relevant writings, and own substantial project components, contributing to CAST's evolving research agenda.

Ideal candidates have strong analytic and writing skills, familiarity with AI policy, and the ability to deliver high-quality work on tight timelines in a hybrid US setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own research deliverables including design, analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
• Contribute to rapid-response analysis on tight timelines.
• Draft policy briefs, memos, and reports for technical and senior audiences.
• Present briefs and reports to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Monitor US and international AI policy, governance developments.
• Help shape CAST's research agenda and engage with clients.
