Nixon Peabody LLP invites a strategic leader to drive the firm's AI and innovation agenda. The Director collaborates with COO, department heads, practice group leaders, and staff to design a multi-year AI roadmap, translate needs into initiatives, and measure ROI across a matrixed organization.

This role includes governance, ethics, vendor diligence, change management, and team leadership, with a focus on responsible AI deployment and cross-functional adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field; J.D. from an accredited law school preferred.
• 8–10 years in legal/tech leadership within professional environment; IT leadership experience.
• Experience with legal practice, legal technology/innovation, or legal operations; credibility with attorneys and understanding of legal workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the firm's multi-year AI roadmap aligned with strategy, revenue objectives, and client service standards.
• Establish governance, risk, and ethics for Responsible AI; oversee vendor diligence and client disclosures.
• Lead firmwide AI change management, training, and phased rollout; build trust and demonstrate value.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary AI team and collaborate across offices and departments.
• Engage with senior leadership and practice groups; monitor AI landscape and report progress monthly.
