Job summary

Rootstock Software is seeking an experienced engineer to design and build agents, tools, and AI-native interactions that simplify ERP workflows. You’ll work on a composable UI, typed tools, and evaluation harnesses to measure real user impact at scale.

The role emphasizes production-grade LLMs, grounding, and safe agent design across orders, inventory, and financials. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers on a roadmap to become AI Native, with a focus on performance, scale, and real customer

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production: agents, tool-calling, MCP or equivalent, retrieval and grounding, prompt and context engineering.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and product sense; capable of judging when an interaction is right. Knowledge of Java/JavaScript or equivalent languages is valuable.
• Experience designing agent behavior: scoping tools, grounding, safe failure, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agents, tools, and AI-native interactions that turn a complex ERP into a workflow-driven experience.
• Build typed, intent-driven tools and scalable architectures on external MCP-backed servers.
• Develop a composable UI surface and the evaluation harness to measure user impact and experience quality.
