Job summary

NOVELIS Greensboro facility in Georgia is seeking a dedicated production operator to support safety, environmental compliance and efficient metal recycling processes across our aluminum operations.

You will handle materials with forklifts, sample and alloy metals to ensure mechanical properties, transfer molten metal to holders, and help meet production targets while upholding ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016 and ASI Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in elements of Greensboro’s safety system
• Ensure compliance to environmental requirements
• Perform material handling activities, mostly with a fork truck and bobcat
• Ensure mechanical properties by sampling, alloying and skimming
• Transfer molten metal to the Holders per production targets
• Manage weigh belt speeds to optimize throughput
• Manage dross to reduce waste and to meet shipping requirements
• Perform equipment inspections to ensure proper condition
• Keep all work areas clean and bright
• Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.

Location Profile

Novelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies. Residents enjoy nearby Lake Oconee which includes several golf communities. In addition Athens Georgia – home to the University of Georgia and hundreds of cultural and sporting events each year – is a short drive away.
