Relief Veterinarian | Granville County, NC We are recruiting on behalf of a privately owned general practice hospital in Granville County that is looking for a dependable Relief Veterinarian to cover a colleague's leave of absence, with a strong preference for coverage Monday through Friday across November and December. This well-established small animal hospital treats a broad range of species, including cats, dogs, pocket pets, reptiles, rabbits, birds, and small farm animals, and prides itself on a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care. With a member of the team currently on leave, the hospital has a significant, ongoing coverage need and is genuinely flexible on how that coverage is structured. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants variety and flexibility in their relief work, whether that's a full daily schedule, surgery-only mornings, appointments-only shifts, or shortened hours. The hospital is open to discussing whatever setup suits you best, and a guest house is available on-site for vets who may be travelling from further afield. The role will involve a standard general practice caseload in 30-minute appointment slots, along with routine surgeries including spays and neuters, lumpectomies, and abscess draining. There's a particular emphasis on dental work, with technicians handling cleaning but the vet needed for extractions. You would be the sole doctor on shift, supported by three experienced vet assistants, each with 5+ years of experience.
