Job summary

Modern Animal is seeking Relief Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) and Veterinary Assistants (VAs) to join our SF Bay Area clinics, delivering top-notch patient care and collaborating with DVMs.

Location: Relief shifts are available at our SF Bay Area clinics. The pay range is $28.00 - $40.00 per hour; base pay varies with knowledge, credentials and experience. Relief positions offer independence and flexible scheduling, with no full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Active RVT license in California or hands-on veterinary assistant experience.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology.
• Comfort performing lab work, patient restraint, and radiology.
• Knowledge of medication administration and handling controlled substances.
• Strong communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care utilizing RVT or VA skills.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records.
• Assist with lab work, patient restraint, and radiology to ensure quality results.
• Support pharmacology tasks including medication administration and controlled substances handling.
• Provide clear discharge instructions and compassionate support to pet owners.
• Collaborate with DVMs and the veterinary team for excellent patient care.
