Job summary

Lakeview Center Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in The Meridian program, a statewide inpatient psychiatric initiative for children and adolescents, with 7–17 years age range and 24-hour supervision in a structured setting.

The role emphasizes advanced clinical work, treatment planning, and direct care within a compliant framework. The position requires an FL RN license, CPR certification, CPI skills, and background screenings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Valid Florida RN license.
• CPR certification.
• Must be able to effectively perform CPI behavior management techniques with appropriate training.
• Provide integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
• Pass organization background screenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct care provision in the treatment program, using advanced knowledge and clinical judgment.
• Conduct assessment and treatment planning and deliver direct services person-centered care.
• Serve as consultant/mentor to other medical and non-medical direct care staff.
• Ensure services are documented in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Manage client risk and safety within the community living environment.

About Lakeview Center

Lakeview Center provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies and intellectual disabilities. The Meridian

is a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) and offers treatment to Medicaid and/or Medicaid eligible children with a serious emotional disturbance that requires treatment in a residential treatment center. The Meridian provides mental health treatment for male and female children and adolescents between the ages of 7 and 17 and utilizes a multi-disciplinary treatment approach with a focus on psychotherapeutic intervention in a structured, community living environment with 24-hour supervision. The program also provides substance abuse intervention services for children and adolescents who are at risk for substance abuse and provides substance abuse treatment services for children and adolescents who have been identified as needing moderate substance abuse and related-problem treatment.

Primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge (License), and to use such advanced knowledge to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing the highest quality client-centered therapeutic services to mental health, substance abuse, or developmentally disabled clients. Must also use such advanced knowledge and experience to serve as a consultant and mentor to other medical/non-medical direct care employees. This position is entrusted with the highest level of responsibility and insight in treating clients and ensuring services are provided and documented in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in addition to LCI and division standards. Based on the knowledge and degree required, this position will serve as a lead position in the provision of direct care. Services include but are not limited to, assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person centered services using specialized knowledge and skills and management of client risk and safety.

This position will work Weekday and Weekend Nights (8 and12-hour shifts).

Role Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Must have a valid license as a Registered Nurse in Florida.
• Must be certified in CPR.
• Must be able to effectively perform client/patient behavior management techniques (CPI) with appropriate training.
• Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
• Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Compensation:

Base pay ranges from $27.40 - $33.55 an hour based on experience. Shift differentials pay $6.00 - $10.00 per hour when applicable.
