Job summary

Meijer in Louisville, KY is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our team. You will fill prescriptions, educate patients, and maintain strong relationships with customers and staff.

In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, you will oversee daily operations and lead clinical services including immunizations. You must be a licensed PharmD/BS in pharmacy with immunization certification and a strong commitment to patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or PharmD required.
• Registered and licensed to practice in the state.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (Retail/Community) where applicable.
• Knowledge of pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Mentor and educate pharmacy technicians; help grow the business.
• Motivate team to perform at a high level.
• Comply with Meijer policies and state/federal laws.
• Communicate effectively and act as agent of change.
• Prioritize workload with strong organizational skills.
• Listen to patients and address their needs.
• In absence of the pharmacist in charge, oversee operations.
• Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You'll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient's needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana) Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, working knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
