Job summary

Meijer Inc. invites applications for a Pharmacist in our in-store Meijer Pharmacy. The role emphasizes patient care, clinical services, and leadership in a retail pharmacy environment. You will fill prescriptions, educate staff, and support immunization services to enhance patient care.

The position requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, active license, and immunization certification (Indiana requirements vary). Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
• Licensed and registered in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• Retail/Community practice experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions accurately and safely.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Mentor and educate pharmacy technicians; support expansion of pharmacy services.
• Oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
• Ensure compliance with Meijer Policies and Procedures and all laws.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You'll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):
