Job summary

Qualifications

• Possess a current Pharmacist license in the state where employment is sought, with no stipulations or Board ordered restrictions.
• Graduate of a US School of Pharmacy or have passed a foreign equivalency exam.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and store.
• Communicate effectively with customers and store personnel.
• Know pharmaceutical products and supplies to recommend to patients and prescribers.
• Receive verbal RX orders and reduce to writing in accordance with laws and regulations.
• Interpret, fill/refill, label and bag prescription orders accurately.
• Evaluate appropriateness of RX orders with patient safety and legal requirements in mind.
• Provide drug counseling with customers and prescribers.
• Be familiar with third party billing and procedures and facilitate charges.
• Maintain records including insurance; receive RX information and deliver to customer.
• Make calls to prescribers and their staff.
• Utilize RX computer system accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain inventory and reconcile controlled substances per policy.
• Promote immunizations to patients and provide them safely.
• Engage in clinical activities with appropriate training.
• Delegate monitoring and ordering supplies; stock incoming orders.
• Compare and check incoming orders.
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities to associates.
• File prescription orders and records per state/federal procedures.
• Resolve conflicts with customers and personnel in the absence of the department manager.
• Run, review and interpret reports.
• Oversee administrative needs in the department in the absence of the department manager.
• Report safety incidents to management and appropriate channels.

• Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
