Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join our pharmacy team in Michigan. You will fill prescriptions accurately, educate patients, and maintain strong relationships with customers and staff.

In this role you will mentor technicians, lead by example, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws while promoting excellent patient care. You’ll participate in immunizations and clinical services, with responsibility for operations when the pharmacist in charge is absent, and you will

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree and license in state of practice.
• Immunization certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients and team.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and drive growth.
• Educate and mentor technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate staff to perform at a high level.
• Know Meijer policies, procedures, and laws.
• Communicate effectively and act as agent of change.
• Prioritize workload with strong organization.
• Listen to patients and address needs.
• Oversee operations in absence of the pharmacist in charge.
• Perform and oversee clinical services including immunizations.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You'll be Doing

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services including immunizations.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications)

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• CPR certification.
• Retail/Community Practice.
