Job summary

Jewish Care is recruiting a Relief Kitchen Assistant to join our Hospitality team on a casual, bank basis across our campuses and care facilities. Shifts are typically 7am–3pm with some weekends.

You will support hospitality services, prep meals, maintain hygiene, and assist with dining areas. Ideal candidates have basic food hygiene, strong communication, and literacy/numeracy skills, and are willing to undertake training as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred or willingness to undertake this qualification.
• Excellent communication skills across a range of people.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills are required.
• Willing to undertake appropriate training (e.g., supervision, NVQ)

Responsibilities

• Basic food preparation including vegetables, salads and sandwiches.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and presentable environment.
• Prepare and arrange food counters and dining areas, ready for service.
• Serve hot and cold food and beverages.
• Operate the till and cashing up when required.
