Job summary

Community Consolidated School District 21 in Wheeling, IL is seeking a part-time Custodian to support daily housekeeping and facilities maintenance. The position offers evening hours, 20 hours per week, with 2:45pm to 10:45pm regular shift and additional summer hours.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup of furniture, floor care, window washing, restroom cleaning, waste disposal, and assisting staff as assigned by the Head Custodian. Ability to lift 100 lbs and work overtime are required.

• Perform daily and scheduled housekeeping duties as required.
• Sets up and shifts furniture and furnishings, washes walls and ceilings; dusts and polishes furniture; washes windows; strips, sprays, buffs, waxes and polishes floors; washes and cleans washrooms and disposes of garbage, trash etc.
• Operates heating, lighting, ventilation and electrical controls as specified.
• Provides assistance to students, teachers, public and other employees as assigned by the Head Custodian.
• Maintains grounds including cutting grass with hand and power mowers, collecting litter, trimming bushes and small trees, raking grounds and performing snow removal as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This role is eligible for insurance. Those staff members who work in a position with 50% full-time equivalency but less than 75% full-time equivalency, will pay the pro rate dollar increment for the cost of the employee’s elected insurance plan associated with the full-time equivalency for their assignment.
