RELIEF ATTENDANT

Job Description

The purpose of the Relief Attendant is to assist with serving meals and snacks, and to clean up afterward. Additionally, the Relief Attendant provides participatory educational and recreational services for Boys & Girls Club members through a weekly program that includes tournaments, contests, skills classes, and displays based on daily placement. The Relief Attendant is assigned to a controlled area where members use equipment and participate in educational activities, ensuring they have fun. Mentoring occurs daily, both individually and in groups. Part-time hours are typically 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm or 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm, depending on the club during the school year. Summer hours are from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm across all clubs. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise and maintain control of the assigned relief area.
2. Check for schedule changes at the beginning of each day.
3. Communicate with the department instructor regarding job functions at the start and end of the relief period.
4. Assume routine duties of the person being relieved.
5. Record members' card numbers on the designated sheet.
6. Perform other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or higher.
2. Experience working with youth of all ages in large groups.
3. Ability to multi-task.
4. Flexibility to change positions as needed.
