Aegis Worldwide seeks a Reliability Specialist – Vibration Analysis in Minooka, Illinois. This role blends hands-on fieldwork, vibration analysis, technical reporting, and customer support to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.

You’ll collect and analyze data on rotating equipment, balance and align machines, and report findings to customers. Travel is frequent within the Illinois I-80 corridor, with some overnight stays.

Qualifications

• CAT I or CAT II vibration analysis certification required or equivalent
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience collecting and analyzing vibration data
• Strong knowledge of rotating machinery and electromechanical fundamentals
• Ability to meet driving record, drug screening, and safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze vibration data on pumps, motors, fans, gearboxes, blowers, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
• Diagnose developing equipment issues and provide repair recommendations, including urgency and priority.
• Perform rotating equipment balancing and laser alignment on complex machine trains.
• Establish vibration monitoring routes and maintain data collection databases.
• Prepare concise technical reports and communicate findings directly to customers.
• Independently coordinate customer visits, travel, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and training to reliability technicians.
• Collaborate with service and sales teams while following customer safety requirements.

This position combines hands‑on fieldwork, vibration analysis, technical reporting, and customer support.

The immediate need is in Minooka, Illinois , with candidates considered throughout the Illinois I-80 corridor. This opportunity is ideal for someone with practical vibration analysis experience who enjoys solving rotating equipment problems and managing work independently.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• ** CAT I or CAT II vibration analysis certification, or an accepted equivalent, is required.**
• At least 2–3 years of relevant hands‑on experience , with the ability to independently collect and analyze vibration data and handle complex reliability work.
• Strong knowledge of rotating machinery, mechanical systems, and electromechanical fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, technical reporting, and customer communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED; no bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to meet driving record, drug screening, and customer‑site safety requirements.

Preferred qualifications:

• Five or more years of vibration analysis, predictive maintenance, or reliability experience.
• CAT II certification.
• Strong hands‑on balancing and laser alignment experience.
• Experience with spectral, time waveform, and PeakVue analysis.
• Familiarity with multiple predictive maintenance technologies, reliability programs, and associated software.

Work Environment & Travel

This role involves frequent driving to customer facilities across Northwest Indiana and Central Illinois, generally within an approximately three‑hour radius. Most travel consists of day trips, with occasional overnight stays.

Depending on the assignment, work may combine customer‑site fieldwork with home‑office analysis. Evening, weekend, and extended hours may be required. Candidates must be comfortable working in industrial environments involving heights, confined spaces, temperature extremes, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
