Description

The Moove Reliability Services Department is aligned with the goals and objectives of our sales and operations teams to expand our customer relationships as a provider of lubricants and related services.

Our Field Technicians serve customers within our geographic regions (PODs). Projects and tasks to be performed are sold by the sales team, which leverages our capabilities to grow business. Industries served include primary and secondary metals, manufacturing, power generation and heavy‑duty commercial vehicles.

Anchored in the Chicago area (served by 2 distribution branches) this position will serve our POD 3 customer base covering Northeast Illinois to Ohio (and northern KY) and south through Indiana.

The level II Field Technician will have experience and background in proper application of lubricants and lubrication techniques and plays a role in advancing the customer relationship and building value with a “reliability mindset.”

Requirements
Primary Duties include:
  • Lubrication related tasks and projects performed at our customer sites, including but not limited to:
    • Lubricant Sampling and sample processing
  • Gear Condition documentation
  • Equipment Tagging
  • Pumping of oils, greases and fluids
  • Operating filtration and other oil services equipment
  • Reservoir cleaning and maintenance
  • Lube and Hydraulic System Troubleshooting
  • Oil Analysis Interpretation
  • Maintenance and repair of department lubrication equipment, including pumps, hoses, filtration and other processing systems
  • System trouble shooting
  • Maintain accurate asset service information including service summaries and inventory control
  • Maintain a clean work environment including workstation, facilities, equipment, vehicles, outside environment.
Other duties may include:
  • Tank and dispensing equipment service, repair and installation.
  • Set up and delivery of rental assets to customer sites.
  • Assist field sales people as directed.
Preferred Background and Experience:
  • Career experience with knowledge of (management of preferred) mechanical and industrial equipment. Focus and exposure to the maintenance, including lubrication of industrial and heavy‑duty equipment.
  • Basic understanding of the concepts of “reliability minded” approaches to asset uptime and operational management.
  • Familiarity with large industrial complexes and applications of rotating equipment (Hydraulics, compressors, turbine, paper machine and large scale mobile equipment).
  • Fluid management experience and expertise (Oil quality, application & recommendation, leak studies, etc)
  • Familiarity with Preventative Maintenance practices, techniques and asset reliability‑based approaches.
  • Fluidpower, Industrial Plumbing and basic electrical understanding, skills and experience.
  • Excellent Communication skills and cross‑function team consideration.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Fluidpower certification, or relevant engineering and system management experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and progress and demonstrate abilities to positively impact our business.
  • Field inquiries and effectively direct them to appropriate people for action.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight as required occasionally for multiple consecutive nights.
Additional Requirements include:
  • MATH ABILITY: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to read and understand journal entries and the flow of information through a general ledger. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Salesforce and other CRM experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a field position. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, sit, and occasionally walk significant distances during a work shift.
