Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the Guthrie Condition Monitoring Program, including Predictive and Preventive Maintenance, Infrared Thermography, Tribology, Ultrasonic, Vibration Analysis, Motor Circuit Analysis, etc.
• Assist Reliability Engineers in implementing efficient preventive and predictive asset strategies to achieve availability and reliability of plant equipment
• Assist with equipment-related data capture for analysis and trending to establish equipment health and risk evaluation
• Assist in publishing Reliability KPIs to measure and improve asset performance and related processes
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement and other stakeholders to drive improved asset availability
• Support development of Asset Strategies to improve reliability, availability and performance
• Ensure facility assets operate safely and in line with regulations
• Explore reliability methodologies, technology, automation and AI to improve asset care
• Support review and optimization of PM plans
• Communicate effectively to build partnerships across the site to reach performance goals

Novelis Guthrie is seeking a dynamic Reliability Engineer Intern for the internship program at our automotive finishing plant in Guthrie, KY. The Reliability Engineer Intern will work alongside the Reliability Team and learn how to improve manufacturing performance and improve equipment reliability by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance.Novelis in Guthrie, KY has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2024 internship. The team is seeking a Reliability Engineer intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The intern will report to the Associate EMRA Leader.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to the Guthrie Condition Monitoring Program, as it pertains to Predictive and Preventive Maintenance, Infrared Thermography, Tribology, Ultrasonic, Vibration Analysis, Motor Circuit Analysis, etc.
• Assist Reliability Engineers in implementing efficient preventive and predictive asset strategies to achieve outstanding availability and reliability of the plant process equipment
• Provide assistance for equipment related loss investigations to determine casual factors and assist in providing technical recommendations and mitigation plans to prevent reoccurrence
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement and other identified collaborators to drive improved asset availability and support fit for purpose training on reliability work processes and practices
• Assist with equipment related data capture for analysis and trending to establish equipment health, evaluation of risk, identifying bad actors and opportunities for improvement
• Assist in publishing Reliability Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve Reliability performance of the equipment assets and reliability related work processes
• Assist in Equipment Criticality Assessments and assist in developing Asset Strategies to achieve efficient reliability, availability, and performance of the plant equipment
• Provide assistance in ensuring the facility's assets are operating optimally, efficiently, and aligned with all safety guidelines and government regulations
• Finding opportunities to use reliability standard methodologies, technology, automation and Artificial Intelligence to promote efficient asset care and performance
• Supporting Maintenance in the review and rationalization and optimization of effective PM plans
• Applies communication skills to establish partnerships across to the site to achieve plant performance goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
• Must acquire the classification Junior or Senior.

Qualifications

• Actively seeking a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Some experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects
• Experience with MS Project
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
