Job summary

John Crane, a Smiths Group company, seeks a Reliability Engineer/Vibration Analyst to join on-site at client facilities. You will develop and run Condition Monitoring programs and perform routine surveys, reporting findings and recommending maintenance.

Applicants should have a mechanical engineering background, ISO 18436-2/4 experience, and 2+ years in vibration analysis; proficiency with vibration software and MS Office is required. Relocation assistance available in the US.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineer degree preferred or equivalent with rotating equipment experience.
• 2+ years in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment.
• ISO 18436-2 Category 2 vibration analysis; ISO 18436-4 Category 2 lubrication analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and develop Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane clients.
• Conduct routine Condition Monitoring surveys at client premises.
• Analyze vibration data and report results with maintenance recommendations.
• Interface with on-site client teams for service delivery.
• Perform periodic on-site Pump Performance Testing and reporting.
• Calculate cost-benefit of recommendations, per IMS requirements.

Job Description

The role is based on-site at a customer facility. Directly coordinating, scheduling, and participating in work with the customer to comply with the “partnership agreement". You will be working as part of a team who will use their knowledge to develop, operate and manage Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane's client.

The role of the Reliability Engineer/Vibration Analyst is to collect routine Condition Monitoring data, conduct first Line analysis and reporting, partner with the teams Engineer to capture advanced data and participate in troubleshooting.

• Operate and Develop Condition Monitoring programs for John Crane clients in conjunction with the
• Conduct routine Condition Monitoring surveys at our clients’ premises.
• Conduct analysis of routine vibration data.
• Report Vibration and Oil Analysis results and associated corrective maintenance recommendations
• Interface with the client for the on-site delivery of Condition Monitoring services.
• Conduct periodic on-site Pump Performance Testing and on-site Reporting.
• Using a defined process calculate the cost benefit of carrying out recommendations.
• Work within the requirements of the Integrated Management System.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree preferred and/or equivalent and relevant work experience with rotating equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vibration Analysis ISO 18436-2 Category 2, or equivalent required.
• Lubrication Analysis ISO 18436-4 Category 2, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors).
• Experience with mechanical seals a big plus.
• Proficient with Computers, MS Office and specialist vibration monitoring software.
• Preferred skills such as thermography, rotor dynamics analysis, laser alignment, and electrical tests.
• Experience working in a diverse environment with a global company is a plus.
