Job description

Reliability Engineer

Global leader in the steel industry is seeking a Reliability Engineer to provide engineering support through reliability processes within a highly automated business unit.

This position is located in the greater Mobile, AL area, and relocation assistance is provided.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide engineering support to the Maintenance Team.
  2. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Reliability Engineering practices.
  3. Initiate and facilitate root cause analysis of equipment failures and major breakdowns.
  4. Identify and propose solutions for recurring equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
  5. Participate in critical equipment inspections and analysis.
  6. Analyze equipment data, recommend maintenance plans, review drawings, etc.
  7. Develop technically based equipment maintenance plans.
  8. Track and analyze equipment maintenance performance trends.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Ability to perform data analysis on equipment performance.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  4. Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
  5. PdM Certification or Qualification (e.g., Vibration, Thermography, Oil analysis, Tribology, Motor Circuit Analysis) preferred.
  6. Knowledge of RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) practices preferred.
  7. Working knowledge of SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
  8. Familiarity with SAP.
  9. Experience with RCFA, Cause Mapping, and Kaizen problem-solving methodologies.
  10. Ability to write technical proposals and communicate effectively at various organizational levels.
