Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an Engineer Reliability - Level 2 to join our Chandler, AZ team, onsite in Chandler. You will develop and coordinate reliability analyses for hardware and software using MIL-HDBK-217F and IEEE standards, with Windchill Risk & Reliability and Reliasoft tools.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering/Math/Stats and at least 2 years of reliability experience or a Masters. Candidates must hold a U.S. Secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics with 2 years of experience or 0 years with a Masters.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, including experience performing reliability and FMEA / FMEA /FTA analyses.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance; U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability analyses for hardware using MIL-HDBK-217F or equivalent and software reliability analysis using IEEE STD 1633-2016 or equivalent as guides using Windchill Risk & Reliability or Reliasoft package (Lambda Predict, BlockSim) software
  • Develop coordinate and conduct Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) for hardware systems
  • Support evaluation of launch vehicle systems and associated Built in Test (BIT) hardware / software to maximize failure mode test coverage and minimize potential for BIT false alarm
  • Coordinate with engineering organizations to assign and plan methods to demonstrate required product reliability
  • Analyze customer requirements and manage cost/schedule to develop reliability programs to achieve objectives
  • Evaluate and score hardware/software nonconformance reports to identify failures and action effectiveness

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Engineer Reliability \- Level 2 to join our team located in Chandler, AZ.

Must work onsite in Chandler Arizona

In this job, you will
  • Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability analyses and evaluations for hardware using MIL-HDBK-217F or equivalent and software reliability analysis using IEEE STD 1633-2016 or equivalent as guides using Windchill Risk & Reliability or Reliasoft package (Lambda Predict, BlockSim) software
  • Develop coordinate and conduct Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (Functional, Interfaces, and Part-Level) using MIL-STD-1629 for hardware as a guide at the launch vehicle system
  • Develop coordinate and conduct Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) for hardware systems using Windchill Risk & Reliability software
  • Support evaluation of launch vehicle systems and associated Built in Test (BIT) hardware / software to maximize failure mode test coverage and minimize potential for BIT false alarm
  • Evaluate and score hardware/software nonconformance reports to identify failures and use the data to calculate acceptance screening and corrective action effectiveness values and perform/support demonstrated reliability assessments.
  • Coordinate with various engineering organizations to assign and plan the methods and detailed activities to demonstrate required product reliability performance.
  • Analyze customer requirements and manage cost/schedule to develop reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and government agency reliability objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics with 2 years of experience or 0 years with a Masters.
  • Ability to discuss technical terms with design engineers of several disciplines to understand function to correlate the function to reliability terms.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, including experience performing reliability and FMEA / FMEA /FTA analyses.
  • Self-driven to complete studies independently and be able to present the results to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Computer skills including use if MS Excel, Word and Power point.
  • Must have a active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of statistics with functional knowledge of Bayesian statistical methods highly desired.
  • Experience performing Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) a plus.
  • Experience using Reliability and Statistical Software (Windchill Risk & Reliability, Reliasoft BlockSim, Reliasof Lambda Predict).
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle systems, devices and control theory a major plus.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
