Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci operations in Arizona is seeking an engineer to perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous production.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, strong communication, and familiarity with MS Office; CMMS experience (SAP) is a plus. On-site workers may receive a housing allowance and competitive benefits.

• Perform onsite evaluation of existing processes and equipment and make recommendations for improvement.

Where You Will Work

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

What You Will Do

What You Bring To Freeport

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline with no experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Reliability Engineering experience through internships, co-ops, academic projects, or industry experience.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
• Experience analyzing equipment failures and using data to support reliability improvements.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems such as SAP.
• Experience with vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, or other condition monitoring technologies is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently$75,000-$104,000.This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
