Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a scientific discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, maintenance management, and asset performance optimization.
  • Experience with reliability methodologies such as FMEA, RCFA/RCA, RCM, life cycle cost analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience analyzing maintenance, failure, and operational data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other applicable business systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules when required.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate within the United States for assignments and future growth opportunities.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Manufacturing, internship, co-op, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champion McCain’s safety, environmental, and loss prevention programs while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support maintenance planners and maintenance continuous improvement teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and reliability improvement programs.
  • Analyze equipment failures, downtime trends, and maintenance data to identify opportunities for improved reliability and performance.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring failures.
  • Develop and maintain equipment maintenance plans, job plans, and maintenance strategies based on failure mode analysis and asset performance data.
  • Recommend and implement machinery modifications, operational improvements, and maintenance solutions that improve reliability and reduce costs.
  • Support capital projects, equipment installations, commissioning activities, and reliability-focused design reviews.
  • Establish and maintain reliability KPIs, maintenance records, and reporting systems aligned with world-class reliability standards.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to enhance asset performance and support business objectives.

About The Role

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading and advancing equipment reliability, maintenance excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation. This role partners closely with maintenance teams, project engineers, plant leadership, and operations to implement best-in-class preventive and predictive maintenance strategies while optimizing total cost of ownership. The Reliability Engineer leverages data, reliability methodologies, and technical expertise to improve asset performance, reduce downtime, support capital projects, and drive long-term operational reliability.

Compensation Package

$81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
