Job summary

Cargill Blair, NE is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to improve asset reliability through predictive maintenance and proactive upgrades. This role focuses on installation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of equipment reliability with a hands-on approach.

You will work with maintenance and production teams to ensure optimal equipment configuration, solve problems, and implement reliability initiatives. Occasional weekend/on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in Production, Maintenance, or Project Management is preferred.
• Knowledge in maintenance process management and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Implement moderately complex reliability excellence activities and identify value creation opportunities.
• Develop and install predictive maintenance programs and technology per area procedures.
• Prepare technical reviews of moderately complex projects and collaborate on new equipment reliability specs.
• Identify and eliminate bad actors and optimize equipment availability.
• Collaborate with maintenance, repairs and production in reliability-related processes.

Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.**Job Purpose and Impact**As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer you will apply technical knowledge to deliver continuous improvement in principles and problem-solving techniques in asset reliability through the detection and elimination of defects. You will repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure the most efficient operation while taking a proactive approach to new equipment installations. In this role, you will partner with the team on tasks ranging from simple part replacement, advanced troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance interventions ensuring that equipment is properly configured and/or set up.**Key Accountabilities*** Implement moderately complex reliability excellence activities and identify and prioritize reliability engineering value creation opportunities.* Execute the development, design and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology in alignment with the area procedures.* Prepare technical reviews of moderately complex projects and collaborate with related areas on new equipment reliability specifications.* Perform the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.* Collaborate with and provide guidance to maintenance repairs and production in reliability related processes and the identification of critical spares.* Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.* Other duties as assigned**Qualifications****MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*** Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience* Minimum of two years of related production work experience* Experience in Production, Maintenance, or Project Management**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Knowledge in maintenance process management* Background in rotating equipment, seals, piping, pumps, fans, blowers and material handling equipment.* Experience creating complex tests and analysis* Predictive maintenance technologies experience* Experience with SAP#LI-SK7**Additional Information**- Location: Blair, NE- Work Schedule: Varies around 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday to Friday.
