Tenth Revolution Group seeks a Reliability Excellence Area Manager to lead reliability, maintenance, automation, and asset performance initiatives across US manufacturing operations. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Asset Management, or Industrial Automation.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of RCM, FMEA, RCA, PdM.
  • Experience with industrial automation and control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs).
  • Experience implementing or managing CMMS/EAM systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute reliability strategies to improve asset performance and reduce failures.
  • Lead RCM initiatives and best practices.
  • Drive RCA, FMEA, and PdM programs.

  • Lead automation initiatives and establish an Automation CoE.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, IT, and corporate reliability teams.
  • Present reliability performance updates and improvement plans to leadership.

Job description

The Reliability Excellence Area Manager is responsible for leading reliability, maintenance excellence, automation, and asset performance initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role oversees Reliability Engineers, Reliability Technicians, Automation Technicians, and other technical personnel while driving strategies focused on equipment reliability, predictive maintenance, asset management, automation, and continuous improvement.

This leader partners with operations, maintenance, engineering, digital transformation, and corporate reliability teams to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, implement advanced technologies, and develop a culture of reliability excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Asset Management
  • Develop and execute reliability strategies that improve asset performance and reduce equipment failures.
  • Lead reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives and best practices.
  • Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
  • Identify and eliminate chronic equipment issues through structured defect elimination programs.
  • Improve asset lifecycle management processes and maintenance effectiveness.
Automation & Digital Transformation
  • Lead automation initiatives supporting manufacturing efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Establish and manage an Automation Center of Excellence (CoE).
  • Partner with digital transformation teams to implement AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Support automation system improvements involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
  • Develop long-term automation roadmaps supporting operational growth.
Maintenance Excellence
  • Manage CMMS/EAM systems and ensure data accuracy and governance.
  • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Improve maintenance workflows, planning, scheduling, and spare parts management.
  • Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and downtime metrics.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Reliability Engineers, Reliability Technicians, Automation Technicians, and related staff.
  • Build training programs to improve reliability and automation capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects focused on reliability and operational performance.
  • Drive process standardization and best practice implementation.
  • Develop long-term reliability strategies aligned with business objectives.
Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, IT, Digital, and Corporate Reliability teams.
  • Provide technical leadership on critical equipment issues and capital improvement projects.
  • Present reliability performance updates and improvement plans to leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Asset Management, or Industrial Automation.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Experience with industrial automation and control systems.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Experience in metals manufacturing, heavy industrial manufacturing, steel production, specialty alloys, aerospace manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Experience with machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI-enabled maintenance technologies.
  • Experience leading enterprise asset management and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration.
