Job description

Minimum Requirements:

Proposer must possess the skills, equipment/software, and experience necessary to design a quality HCSO logo that can be scaled to use in a variety of ways, including vehicle decals, badges, letterhead, and business cards. The selected proposer must be able to install the newly designed logo and other graphics on County Sheriff vehicles as described below. Also, the selected proposer may be asked to produce other items containing the logo. HCSO will own and possess all rights to the newly designed logo without any limitation on usage.

The selected proposer will meet with HCSO officials to discuss design concepts then create the logo for county review and consideration. This is expected to be an iterative process with multiple designs created for consideration. The selected proposer is expected to be budget conscious while allowing for design iterations.

Once the selected proposer is under contract, the expectation is that the logo will be created and finalized within one month; proposer must have staff available to make this design project a priority. The final design file will be sent by email, both for print and digital use.

Installation of the graphics must be done within 7 days of request by HCSO and/or Hennepin County Fleet Services, after the specs for specific vehicle graphics have been proofed and agreed upon. Installation shall be done at the location of HCSO's choosing, this includes Hennepin County Fleet Services in Medina, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Facility or a vehicle build facility such as Client Fleet Supply in Clear Lake or Everest Emergency Vehicles Inc. in Little Canada, MN.

We would like a new HCSO Sheriff Star logo to replace our current one with the new MN State seal. Where it currently says "SHERIFF HENNEPIN CO.” it has a white background, would prefer all in yellow/gold.

We would like the new logo prominently displayed on both sides similar to the demo shown below. The Sheriff Star can be approximately 16” x 16” and the majority of the star should be centered in the flat portion of the door. To the right of the star, the word "Sheriff” in reflective yellow/gold can be approx. 52” wide and 6” tall. The smaller words "Hennepin County” can also be approx. 52” wide but should be about 2” tall to fit below Sheriff and still stay on the flat area of the door panels. Ideally, we would like the Sheriff Hennepin County center on the doors so there is a natural break between the large Sheriff letters for the door seam.

On the front sides of the vehicle, near the spotlights we would like the squad five-digit unit #s to be approximately 9” wide and 2” tall to fit the curved surface near the hood and side panel with the same reflective/yellow. On the rear panels on each side, the numbers "911” near the rear lamps under the rear windows should be in the same reflective yellow/gold. They can be approx. 9” wide by 4” tall.

On the rear of the squad, it should look like what is seen below. The US Flag should be approx. 7” x 7”. The Sheriff star can also be lighter and more visible and a little larger. The star can be approximately 7” x 7” and still fit in the flat area shown below. The unit # can be in the same reflective yellow/gold approx. 9” wide x 2” tall. The "SHERIFF” can also be in same reflective yellow/gold, approx. 18” wide and 2” high to fit the curved portion of the vehicle between the window and the rear panel.
