Job Responsibilities

As a key engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring on-time, high-quality releases across multiple devices. Your duties include managing the release quality and lifecycle, including deployment, triage, mitigation, and tool development for software release operations. You will collaborate daily with Development and QA teams, assess release quality using key metrics, and address incidents from the field.

You will also identify new tools and processes to improve the release triage engineering process, manage risks, and resolve issues affecting scope, schedule, and quality.

Key Tasks

1. Ensure timely, high-quality software releases using proactive monitoring
2. Troubleshoot issues in entertainment devices involving media, streaming protocols, web browsers, HDMI, Bluetooth, WiFi/Ethernet
3. Diagnose and resolve issues using Linux and networking protocols, including packet analysis
4. Develop anomaly detection techniques and data-driven solutions
5. Conduct deep-dive analysis of middleware issues, including source code review
6. Design and improve operational tools for system performance
7. Analyze field device data to provide insights and support decision-making
8. Utilize AWS technologies for data management and visualization
9. Implement DevOps solutions for operational improvements
10. Compare metrics across device models and respond to critical issues
11. Lead, mentor, and communicate technical insights to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Embedded Systems experience
• Knowledge of RDK
• Experience with Set-top boxes, Broadband Gateways, Networking, or Home Security is a plus
• 5+ years in C/C++ and Linux development
• Experience with Jira, Git & GitHub, ELK, Splunk, Grafana
• 2+ years as a technical lead and mentor
• Scripting experience in BASH, Go, or Python
