Job summary

Growth Solutions in Ames, IA is seeking a Release Engineer to own and improve backend services. You’ll document systems for fast onboarding, trace root causes in Next.js and Laravel stacks, and monitor Cypress-driven deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining backend services using modern JS frameworks and test tooling.
• Ability to document systems for quick onboarding of junior engineers.
• Proven calm and effective communication when scope changes.

Responsibilities

• Document the Laravel system so the next junior engineer onboards in days, not weeks
• Design, build, and maintain reliable backend services using Cypress and Adaptability
• Read the Next.js stack traces others skim past, and trace bugs to their root
• Catch the boldly-pragmatic RabbitMQ regression in staging before it ever reaches Ames customers
• Map data flow across Growth Solutions' Cypress services and spot the leaks
• Apply Next.js and Interpersonal Skills to solve quietly-relentless engineering challenges
• Pull Jenkins telemetry into dashboards Growth Solutions leaders actually open
• Track and report on key performance metrics for technology services
