EmberHope is seeking a Relative Coordinator in Wichita to support kinship placements for children entering foster care. The role involves initial walkthroughs, background checks, and engaging with family and NRKIN using search tools and social media.
You will collaborate with case managers to connect supportive adults to youth, aligning with trauma-informed practices and EmberHope's mission.

1. The relative coordinators do initial walk-throughs and background checks to place the children in Kinship homes upon entering foster care.
2. Specialize in and coordinate the search for and engagement with family and Non-Related Kin (NRKIN). Search for the adults using information from parents, youth, other team members, and files, using search websites and/or social media, as well as various family-finding tools. This search will begin when a youth enters foster care and will continue throughout the life of the case until supportive adults can be located.
3. Once support has been identified, contact them to talk about ways they may be willing to stay connected to the youth and/or family and assist them. Pass all identified connections to the case team.
4. Assist case managers with introducing the supportive adult or the family finding concepts to the case team.
5. Work with the case team to see if additional relative or NRKIN resources can be located to assist the parent with managing the requirements of the case plan and making additional connections.
6. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Company’s Program Practice Guidelines.
1. High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Experience in social service or nonprofit.
3. Knowledge and experience working with social media platforms and conducting research.
4. Physical working requirements - Ability to travel, driving company or personal vehicle, including at night. Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Able to walk upstairs. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Employees are occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and frequently to inside conditions, with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
