Job summary

Chartway Credit Union is seeking a Relationship Specialist to join our Norfolk branch. You will deliver exceptional member service, perform transactions, and guide members through basic financial solutions with a team that values respect and integrity.

Responsibilities include proactive outreach, cross-department collaboration, and handling a range of member needs from accounts to lending, while maintaining compliance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
• 1–3 years of top-notch customer service experience and relationship building.
• Basic MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional member service and provide sound financial guidance.
• Build and maintain relationships with Chartway members through proactive outreach.
• Collaborate with branch team to resolve member questions and find solutions.
• Handle member transactions accurately and assist with new accounts and lending needs.

Branch Hours: Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Hiring Range: $20 - $22 per hour

(Higher compensation may be considered based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity)

Responsible to the Branch Manager, the Relationship Specialist is part of a highly skilled service team, committed to unlocking the potential of individuals and families so they can thrive. Relationship Specialists work collaboratively with Chartway team members to create personal experiences and provide financial solutions for Chartway’s members.

Responsible and Accountable for:

• Creates an environment of exceptional member service that provides sound financial wellness and consultative advice for our members
• Develops and builds relationships with Chartway’s member base through proactive outreach and follow up
• Proactively collaborates and communicates with the branch team and other departments to successfully find solutions for members
• Easily transitions between job functions and responsibilities within the branch to effectively respond to members’ needs
• Responsible for positively representing Chartway in the community
• Efficiently & accurately performs member transactions and can easily assist members with new account establishment, personal financing, real estate lending, investment referrals, and small business deposit products
• Accountable for branch operations, compliance, best practices, and federal regulations

• Ability to develop strong relationships in a warm and professional manner

• Demonstrated sense of ownership and ability to meet deadlines

• Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures and processes related to the credit union and the product and services it offers

Education and Experience:

• Education: Associate’s or equivalent experience
• Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in in providing top notch customer service, imaginative problem resolution and relationship building
