First Tech Federal Credit Union is seeking a Relationship Banker to serve members at the San Jose Experience Center. You will handle routine transactions, open accounts, and provide tailored financial recommendations to help members reach their goals.

You will meet sales targets and participate in cross-selling while maintaining accurate records and compliant processes. This on-site role emphasizes customer service and teamwork within a member-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months in a fast-paced sales or customer service role.
• Ability to listen to members' needs and provide tailored product recommendations.
• Excellent listening and written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Notary license preferred.

Description

The Relationship Banker is a frontline financial partner (financial MDs) that is part of a supportive and dynamic member-focused sales team. As a Relationship Banker, you'll work in a fast-paced environment processing routine financial transactions for members in-person, over the phone, and by e-mail. You'll engage in consultative conversations with members to establish a strong rapport and understanding of their financial needs and offer tailored products and services to help them reach their financial dreams.

Here’s what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:

What You’ll Do:

• Quickly process routine financial transactions for members including deposits and withdrawals, loan payments, and cashier's checks, while ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to internal procedures
• Establish and maintain member deposit and loan accounts
• Provide the highest quality of member service by promptly addressing member concerns and escalate to leadership when appropriate
• Proactively identify and recommend the best products and services to meet the members' financial needs and partner with service teams including insurance, investments, Premier, and mortgage
• Meet monthly metrics and service objectives (i.e. campaigns, cross-selling, and referrals), alongside sales targets, and incentives to help drive and execute key business goals and initiatives
• Complete required compliance training within well-defined timelines and utilize available resources to maintain in depth current knowledge of all current credit union products and services
• Perform account maintenance activities including updating member contact and personal information
• Perform follow-up activities and outbound calls for new and existing members

Essential Skills:

• Minimum six (6) months in a fast-paced sales or customer service role required; financial services experience preferred
• Ability to listen to members' needs and provide tailored product recommendations
• Excellent listening skills with the ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to work in fast-paced customer service and sales environment without sacrificing accuracy and service
• Aptitude for learning a variety of computer systems using technology to solve member issues
• Possesses critical thinking and decision-making skills with attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Certification/License: Notary preferred
• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Location: San Jose Experience Center | San Jose, CA 95134

Target Compensation: $25.50 - $30.50 + monthly incentive

Schedule: Full-Time On-Site | Branch operating hours are Monday - Friday 9am-5pm & Saturday 10am-1pm
