Job summary

Trustmark is seeking a Relationship Banker II - Floaters to travel between assigned Houston locations. You will identify customer needs, refer products, and drive sales while providing exceptional service.

You will handle deposits, loans, and cash transactions, balance cash drawers, and support teammates as needed. Strong communication and sales skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of face-to-face customer service or retail sales experience with a track record of meeting goals.
  • Willing to learn lending guidelines and process loans within 2 years.
  • Must be able to register with the NMLS.
  • Ability to perform routine transactions and balance cash drawer.
  • Strong customer service and product knowledge skills.
  • Able to meet sales goals and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and cross-sell deposit accounts, loans, and insurance products.
  • Safeguard bank assets while processing transactions accurately.
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer; handle cash transactions.
  • Open, close, and maintain accounts.
  • Meet quarterly sales and referral goals with excellent service.
  • Make outreach calls to customers or prospects.
  • Represent Trustmark professionally with customers and public.
  • Potentially coach/train other Relationship Bankers or Tellers; manage scheduling.
  • Review/approve various transactions and oversee processing.
  • Possibility of cash shipment and vault management.

Overview

Relationship Bankers are responsible for identifying customer needs and matching them with the appropriate bank products and services to enhance a current or prospective customer’s satisfaction, loyalty, and financial well-being. Utilizing proactive sales/service efforts coupled with the recognition of referral opportunities, Relationship Bankers will deepen customer relationships while also processing a variety of cash and non-cash transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Identify customer needs and make the appropriate referrals through proactive sales/service efforts
  • Service, sell, and cross-sell deposit accounts, loan products, insurance products, cash management services, etc.
  • Continually safeguard the bank’s assets and security of the working environment while processing transactions accurately (deposits and withdrawals for transaction accounts, collection items, wire transfers, credit card transactions, and loan payments)
  • Maintain and balance a cash drawer. Abundant cash handling is expected
  • Open, close, and maintenance accounts
  • Must achieve sales and referral goals quarterly while providing excellent customer service and utilizing opportunities to transform service into sales
  • Making outreach calls to customers and/or prospects
  • Meet and greet public in a professional manner that reinforces Trustmark’s service standards
  • All work must be performed within the bank’s guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of performance
  • Potentially manage, coach, and provide training for other Relationship Bankers and/or Tellers; manage scheduling and overtime, conduct required meetings, jointly complete performance appraisals, and delegate additional duties as required
  • Processing oversight and responsibility to review/approve various transactions, such as night drop contracts/logs, ATM deposits, collection items, money orders, official checks, and cash drawers
  • Potential for cash shipment and vault management
  • Potential for loan origination responsibilities and administration thereof
  • Perform additionalduties as assigned.
  • Travel among assigned locations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience, retail sales experience or prior Trustmark Relationship Banker experience with a demonstrated track record of exceeding the individual performance goals.
  • Able to learn Trustmark consumer and/or mortgage lending guidelines and process applicable loans within 2 years of employment
  • Be able to register with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
  • Able to use basic math concepts and can handle routine transactions and close out the cash drawer
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to learn and communicate Trustmark products
  • Pass appropriate assessment tests related to customer service and math skills
  • Able to meet sales goals in a retail environment
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn internal technology systems to perform work tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Demonstrate professional appearance and mannerisms as this position works with the public on a daily basis
  • Prior supervisory experience in a retail or bank environment preferred
  • Prior experience processing consumer or mortgage loans preferred
  • 2 years of banking industry knowledge specifically of the Relationship Banker position preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens. Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds in order to process boxed or bagged coins.
