Position SummaryThe Relationship Banker role combines the duties of a teller with those of a relationship banker, offering personalized customer service, conducting financial transactions, and cross-selling products and services. The Relationship Banker is also responsible for handling complex banking tasks, such as opening new accounts and assisting with account maintenance, ensuring a seamless and comprehensive customer experience.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Relationship BuildingGreet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service to build lasting relationships.Identify customer needs and offer solutions through the bank’s products and services.Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through personalized service and proactive outreach, assisting with both routine and complex banking needs.Resolve customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience.Sales & ReferralsPromote and cross-sell bank products.Assist customers in understanding various product offerings and provide tailored financial advice, referring customers to other lines of business as appropriate.Account ManagementOpen and manage a variety of accounts.Assist with account maintenance tasks, such as updating account information, processing stop payments, and handling transfers.Provide assistance with and support for online banking services and digital banking tools.Loan & Credit ProcessingRefer clients with credit needs to the appropriate banker or line of business.Transactions & Cash HandlingProcess transactions with a high degree of accuracy.Balance cash drawer and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded at the end of each shift.Compliance & Risk ManagementAdhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure accuracy and security of transactions.Maintain confidentiality of customer information and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.Monitor for potential fraud or suspicious activity, following bank procedures to address issues.Operational SupportAssist with branch operations and administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, organizing records, and maintaining operational reports.Support branch leadership with daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and ensuring compliance with security standards.Education & ExperienceKnowledge of:Strong sales and customer service skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsBasic math and accounting functionsAbility to:Accurately count moneyPerform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressuresStand for extended periods of timeLift 50 poundsEducation and Training:Requires a High School diploma.Requires previous banking and/or sales experience.Pursuant to the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (“SAFE Act”), all Relationship Bankers (if lending) are required to maintain current registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (“NMLS”). If such registration is not active as of the hire date, the Relationship Banker must immediately attain active registration upon employment. Relationship Bankers who fail to maintain an active and current registration will be unable to lend and may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.Benefits and CompensationSalary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends.
