Job summary

One Love Agency in Boise, Idaho seeks a compassionate Reintegration Peer Support Specialist to assist adults transitioning from incarceration back into their communities. The role focuses on stability, housing, employment, behavioral health treatment, and community connection through client-centered support.

The position offers full-time or part-time options, with a schedule typically Monday–Friday and some field work.

Qualifications

  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) in Idaho is required or preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in psychology, social work, addiction counseling optional.
  • Experience with mental health, substance use, or justice-involved populations preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Peer Support services to adults with mental health, behavioral health, and reintegration needs.
  • Complete assessments and help clients identify strengths, barriers, goals, and support needs.
  • Develop individualized service plans with clients and support systems.
  • Reinforce independent living, coping, problem-solving, communication, and community integration skills.

Reintegration Peer Support Specialist

Location: Boise, Idaho and surrounding communities

Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, primarily 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Work Environment: Boise, Idaho and surrounding communities. Work is completed in the field, with access to office locations as needed.

One Love Agency is seeking compassionate, motivated, and relationship-focused Peer Support Specialist (PSS) to support adults transitioning from incarceration back into their communities.

Our Reintegration Program serves justice‑involved individuals who are working to rebuild their lives through stable housing, employment, behavioral health treatment, recovery supports, healthy relationships, and community connection. We help clients overcome barriers, develop life skills, access resources, and build a foundation for long‑term success.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Peer Support services to adults with mental health, behavioral health, and reintegration needs.
  • Complete assessments and assist clients in identifying strengths, barriers, goals, and support needs.
  • Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients and their support systems.
  • Reinforce independent living skills, coping skills, problem‑solving skills, communication skills, and community integration strategies.
  • Support clients in reducing barriers that contribute to instability and recidivism.
  • Collaborate with probation and parole officers, treatment providers, employers, housing agencies, and other community partners.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed to support successful outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with Medicaid and agency standards.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists, social workers, and medical personnel, to ensure comprehensive care for the individuals you support.
  • Provide emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to help individuals develop coping skills and resilience during addiction recovery and co‑occurring disorders.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, assisting them in navigating systems such as mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, housing, and employment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in peer support services.
Qualifications
  • Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) in the state of Idaho.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications in psychology, social work, addiction counseling, or related fields are preferred.
  • Experience working with mental health, substance use, justice‑involved populations, or community‑based services preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the service area.
  • Experience with electronic documentation systems is a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Working with justice‑involved or formerly incarcerated individuals.
  • Probation, parole, corrections, or community supervision systems.
  • Behavioral health and substance use treatment services.
  • Housing and employment resource coordination.
  • Case management or rehabilitation services.
  • Motivational interviewing and strengths‑based approaches.
  • Community outreach, advocacy, and relationship building.
Compensation
  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • Pay is based on billable service hours and positive client outcomes.
  • Full‑time staff generally maintain 30–40 hours per week.
