Responsibilities

• Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric and position in concrete to reinforce it.
• Bend steel rods with hand tools or rebar-bending machines and weld them.
• Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of rods from blueprints.
• Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms.
• Place blocks under rebar to hold them off the deck when reinforcing floors.
