Plante Moran in Michigan seeks an experienced healthcare reimbursement consultant to prepare and analyze Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for acute care clients. The role supports in-office responsibilities at Southfield or Traverse City, with about 25% travel.

You will work on strategic engagements, analyze data to optimize reimbursement, and advise clients on regulatory changes. A Bachelor’s in accounting/finance (CPA preferred) and 2+ years of cost report experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, healthcare, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 2+ years experience with Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and related analysis.
• Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis; ability to identify variances and opportunities to improve processes.
• Proficient with financial accounting systems and MS Office.

• Prepare, review and analyze Medicare and Medicaid cost reports in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
• Participate in strategic engagements focused on preparation and analysis of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for acute care clients.

Our acute care healthcare consulting team focuses on our clients’ critical business needs. Our team works with acute providers including large hospital health systems as well as small community hospitals. Our acute reimbursement practice assists hospitals with a wide array of services including the filing of their Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports, Medicare DSH optimization, Medicare Wage Index related services, Medical Education reimbursement, and reimbursement optimization strategy. At Plante Moran, we have the privilege of serving clients and providing consultative services as they face challenges and seek new opportunities. This position offers the opportunity to work from our Southfield or Traverse City, Michigan office. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance of either location to support in-office responsibilities.

Your role

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

This position is based in either Southfield or Traverse City, Michigan. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of these office locations.

Ability to travel approximately 25%

This is an exempt position that may require some local and national travel.
