Job summary

Kindred Hospital- The Palm Beaches is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician on a PRN basis, with some weekends required. The role supports the rehabilitation team by assisting with patient care, preparing treatment areas, and handling routine clerical duties to help the Therapy Department run smoothly.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, 6-12 months rehab experience, CPR (as required), and a willingness to learn on the job while maintaining effective communication with team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6-12 months relevant experience in rehab setting preferred.
• CPR certification when required and willingness to participate in on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Follows patient care-related tasks as directed to assist patients in achieving goals.
• Performs routine clerical tasks for Therapy Department.
• Communicates effectively with rehabilitation team in writing and verbally.
• Handles equipment and supplies; lifts and transports up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Prepares patients for prescribed treatments and assists licensed staff.
• Maintains treatment areas and inventory of therapy supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

A Rehabilitation Technician who excels in this role:

• Follows patient care-related tasks as determined by the OTR/RPT to assist the patient in achieving optimal goals
• Performs routine clerical tasks for Therapy Department.
• Must be able to communicate in both verbally and in writing to members of the rehabilitation team
• Visual acuity to perceive patient reactions to treatment and to read instructions
• Able to lift and carry equipment, supplies and materials up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Prepares patient for prescribed treatment and assists professional staff with patient treatment.
• Prepares, cleans and maintains treatment areas and equipment.
• Procures and keeps an accurate inventory of all therapy supplies.
• Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6-12 months relevant experience strongly recommended in a rehab setting
• CPR certification (when required)
• Willing to participate in on-the-job training after initial orientation
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Appropriate telephone communication skills.
• Ability to Transport, lift, transfer, move and reposition patients in the patient room, Therapy Gym and other common areas of the hospital.
