Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

The Rehabilitation Tech assists the therapists and assistants with patient related activities and direct patient care. The Rehabilitation Tech may assist with treatments only when under the direct supervision of a therapist.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the therapist and assistant in clerical, patient, client, and team member related duties.
• Participate in department meetings and in facility meetings as assigned.
• Perform clerical work as directed, including computerized activities.
• Answer and direct phone calls.
• Develop and maintain a filing system.
• Assist with treatment as directed by therapist.
• Coordinate work activities with members of other departments and other staff within the rehabilitation department.
• Provide general support to visitors.
• Transport patients as scheduled to and from treatment areas.
• Prepare patients for treatment.
• Assist patients, clients, and team members with particular issues or needs.
• Participate in facility performance improvement programs.
• Report any unusual incidents to Director of Rehab.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the treatment areas and department.
• Assist with maintaining an adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
• Carries out functional maintenance programs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in patient/resident care in a nursing center, hospital or rehabilitation center preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the state in which employed preferred.
