Job summary

Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Rehabilitation RN Educator for the Spinal Cord Injury/Orthopedics unit in Jackson, MS. The role combines patient teaching with staff education and clinical leadership to promote best practices and improved patient outcomes.

You will assess learning needs, plan individualized education, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support safe transitions after discharge.

Qualifications

• Current Mississippi RN license.
• BLS certification.
• At least 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience.
• CRRN certification required within 36 months of Educator role.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• TB certification preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to teach, mentor and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families; develop individualized education plans.
• Lead individual and group education sessions using evidence-based materials.
• Coordinate patient education with therapy schedules and interdisciplinary team.
• Document education provided and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Provide direct nursing care and monitor patient conditions.
• Participate in weekly care conferences and contribute to rehabilitation planning.
• Support staff education, orientation, and professional development.
