Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC seeks four Rehabilitation Counselors to deliver substance use disorder treatment to incarcerated individuals across six Cranston facilities. The role involves ASAM-based assessments, individual and group counseling, and collaboration with medical and security staff.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM, about 35 hours weekly. Required is a Bachelor's degree in a related field and RI licensure (LCDP/LCDCS/LMHC/LICSW/LMFT) with experience in SUD treatment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
• Active Rhode Island license in good standing as LCDP/LCDCS/LMHC/LICSW/LMFT.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and treating substance use disorders.
• Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria.
• Experience facilitating both individual and group counselling.
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
• Provide individual counseling and therapeutic interventions
• Facilitate psychoeducational and treatment-focused group counseling sessions
• Apply ASAM criteria in assessment, treatment planning, and level-of-care recommendations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Support discharge planning and re-entry preparation when applicable
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical record systems
• Foster a safe, recovery-oriented treatment environment within a correctional setting

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr

Position Overview

Department of Corrections is seeking four experienced and licensed behavioral health professionals to provide substance use disorder treatment services to incarcerated individuals across all six secure correctional facilities in Cranston The selected clinicians will work collaboratively with correctional, medical, and behavioral health staff to create a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment while delivering evidence-based treatment services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in correctional, forensic, residential, or community behavioural health settings
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability
• Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
