Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Rehabilitation Therapy Technician and Van Driver to support therapists, prepare equipment, and ensure safe patient transport within a national inpatient rehabilitation leader. You will work closely with therapists and nurses to deliver patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes assisting with daily care, coordinating with families, and maintaining vehicle readiness, with opportunities for growth in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred (unless hospital policy requires otherwise).
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Has completed elements required for clinical ladder Rehab Tech or equivalent training.
• Valid driver’s license for the heaviest class vehicle to be driven.
• CPR and First Aid Training
• Previous transportation experience required

Responsibilities

• Support therapists' daily patient care and therapy activities.
• Facilitate effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and deliver patient-centered treatment.
• Prepare and transport patients according to the patient schedule.
• Communicate to therapists on outcomes/observations of patient care activities.
• Help to transfer patients to and from facility via the facility van and assist in maintenance of the van when complete
