Job Summary
Provides clerical services and care for patients undergoing therapy as well as administrative support to therapy personnel.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of work experience in the healthcare field, prior experience with patient care in a nursing home preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
- Has a solid and stable work history.
- Possesses a mature and professional appearance and work ethic.
- Must have a reliable source of transportation and a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance if driving while on the job.
- Possesses computer skills.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate.
- Demonstrates compassion, empathy and strong customer service skills.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to use hands to finger to handle or feel and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Specific vision abilities include close, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires moderately heavy physical exertion on a regular and reoccurring basis such assisting patients in transfer activities (wheelchair to bed, to tub, to commodes) and providing substantial support to individuals in ambulation therapy.
- Occasionally may lift and/or assist to lift/move over 100 pounds.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all safety, fire, evacuation, emergency care and disaster policies and procedures, including proper body mechanics and lifting techniques.

General office, healthcare setting – exposure to infectious disease.
Essential Functions
Patient Care
- Greets, welcomes and directs patients to gym area.
- Assists patients in preparation for treatments.
- Reports any changes in conditions immediately to the therapist.
- Assists with transfer and set up of patients as requested by clinicians in a safe and timely manner.
- Documents statistics, activities, exercises and outcomes as directed by the licensed clinician.
Treatment Area Maintenance
- Cleans and maintains treatment areas before and after sessions in a neat and orderly fashion and disinfects therapy room (weekly).
- Prepares and maintains treatment equipment and supplies in an organized manner.
- Maintains an adequate supply of linen necessary for the daily functioning of the department. Receives, replaces and restores linens.
- Coordinates therapist and treatment room schedules with patient availability.
Administrative Support
- Upkeep of files, forms and patient info as directed by FRD.
- Able to cover other facilities as required by the needs of the Company.
- Answers telephone calls to the department in a polite and professional manner. Takes messages, provides information and transfers calls as needed.
- Meets productivity and utilization expectations as established by the Company and facility.
- All other duties as requested.
