The MyMichigan Health Rehabilitation Services department is seeking a clinical professional to maintain daily operations, plan programs, and manage budgets while delivering patient care within scope of practice for PT, OT, or Speech Language Pathology. This role requires collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure quality outcomes.
Responsibilities include evaluating patient function, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating care with clinical support staff.
This position is responsible for the maintaining the daily operation of the designated Rehabilitation Services department(s) with responsibility for program planning and budget. Provide patient care within scope of practice for designated discipline. Clinical activities of this position are patient focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures. This position delegates responsibility to clinical and ancillary staff as appropriate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
For Physical Therapist (PT): Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
For Occupational Therapist (OT): Completion of Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in OT.
For Speech Language Pathologist (ST): Completion of Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university and have received certificate of Clinical Competence.
Clinical experience in the field of physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy; policies and procedures as normally acquired through two (2) years clinical experience working in a Medical Center or similar setting. Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques in area of expertise per state and or/professional association requirements.
State of Michigan License/Registration/Certification required per designated discipline.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Successful completion of MyMichigan Health and affiliate specific orientation. Successful completion of new hire competency.
Interpersonal skills needed for effective verbal and written communication in the English language to interact with people individually and in a group at all levels.
Ability to work independently, demonstrating problem solving and organizational skills, time management skills and initiative.
Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)is required and must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
Ability to work where employee may be exposed to communicable diseases. Ability to use personal protective equipment correctly.
Ability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodation.
Ability to demonstrate and teach selected treatment routines to appropriate professional and non-professional individuals.
For Physical Therapist (PT): APTA membership preferred.
For Occupational Therapist (OT): AOTA and MOTA memberships preferred.
For Speech Language Therapist (ST): ASHA membership preferred.
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level:Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
