Job summary

CalvertHealth in Maryland is seeking a Patient Support Services Associate to assist therapists with direct patient care across acute, sub-acute and outpatient settings.

You will transport and escort patients within clinic areas, maintain equipment and treatment spaces, and assist with ordering supplies while upholding HIPAA privacy and professional standards. Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology are required to document care and coordinate with the care team.

• Responsible for providing support services to assist therapists in direct patient care in acute care, sub-acute and/or outpatient settings. Responsible for transporting and /or escorting patients in the clinic areas, maintaining equipment and treatment areas, and ordering of supplies. Has basic computer skills and basic knowledge of medical terminology.

• Experience:
• Must demonstrate competence to provide support rehabilitation services by reason of education, training and experience.
• Other Requirements:
• Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
• Good interpersonal skills are essential, especially courtesy and cooperation, when interacting with other staff members and patients/families/caregivers. Must demonstrate ability to handle confidential data discretely and adhere to HIPAA compliance regulations.
