Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Regulatory Specialist to participate in activities relating to government and regulatory requirements and compliance for human subjects research. You will coordinate regulatory information for submissions to local and state agencies and interpret regulations to maintain compliant policies and procedures.

The role involves learning applicable regulations, supporting educational activities, and ensuring timely communication with IRBs,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a high school diploma with four years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor's.
  • Related certifications may be required in some areas (e.g., clinical research certifications).
  • 2 years' experience as an educator in a clinical research capacity is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn federal, state and institutional regulations, policies and guidelines pertaining to human subjects research and apply them appropriately.
  • Assist with and facilitate educational activities.
  • Facilitate timely communication with the institutional review boards, faculty, and residents.

Regulatory Specialist
Position Description

Incumbents in this position participate in activities relating to government and regulatory requirements and compliance. Coordinate the accumulation of regulatory compliance and technical information for submission to various local and state governmental regulatory agencies and interpret and clarify federal, state or local laws or regulations. Establishes and maintains policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Learn the federal, state and institutional regulations, policies and guidelines pertaining to human subjects research and apply them appropriately.
  • Assists with and facilitates educational activities
  • Facilitate timely communication with the institutional review boards, faculty, and residents
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification through the Society of Clinical Research Associates as a Certified Clinical Research Professional OR the Association of Clinical Research Professions as a Certified Professional.
  • 2 years' experience working as an educator in a clinical research capacity.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field OR high school diploma and four years experience in a related field in lieu of bachelor's. Related certification, licenses and registrations may be required in some areas.
