Qualifications

• PhD or MS in applicable bioscience fields.
• 5–10+ years in scientific and regulatory affairs within food industry or government regulation.
• Experience gaining global regulatory approvals for FEMA and GRAS substances, novel foods, food additives, flavor and fragrance materials.
• Experience with US, EU/EFSA and Codex/JECFA regulatory and risk assessment processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory strategy and compliance across global markets for FEMA, GRAS, and novel foods.
• Oversee preclinical/clinical study planning to support food ingredient safety.
• Coordinate FEMA/GRAS submissions and approvals for expanded ingredient use regionally and globally.
• Engage with regulatory authorities and trade industry organizations.
• Provide strategic guidance to internal teams on science and regulation for food ingredients and related products.
• Monitor regional regulatory changes impacting food ingredients and labeling.
• Communicate regulatory events to business teams in a timely manner.
