Job summary

The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission seeks an attorney to provide legal counsel to the Utility Division and the Commission, focusing on litigated matters before the Commission. Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.
• Must be licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or obtain a limited law license within six months of hire.
• Litigation experience in regulatory or civil/criminal settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to the Utility Division and the Commission in litigation before the PRC.
• Litigate cases before the Commission and prepare expert witnesses to testify.
• Prepare and review testimony for presentation in cases before the Commission.
• Advise the Commission and other divisions on legal issues outside contested proceedings, such as public records acts.
• Engage in case management and meet deadlines while balancing priorities.
