Google is seeking a Regulatory Counsel, Privacy, to join a Global team that advises on privacy law and regulatory compliance, helping mitigate risk across the company.

The role requires 7+ years of legal/regulatory experience, attorney-level practice, and global privacy-law familiarity; you will guide policy, coordinate with stakeholders, and engage with regulators to secure compliant product development.

• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
• 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
• 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• Experience advising on global privacy and data protection laws.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience developing, advising, and evaluating programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
• Experience engaging with regulators, including State Attorneys General (AGs), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and global data protection authorities.
• Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.
• Experience with managing projects and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the highest standards of integrity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, time management and investigative skills, and attention to detail.
