Job summary

inMusic is seeking a Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability Program Manager to lead global product environmental compliance and sustainability programs. This role interfaces with operations, sales, supply chain, engineering, and quality to manage chemical and regulatory risks across products and processes.

The ideal candidate has a chemistry/engineering/environmental science background, 8–10 years in chemical compliance, and deep expertise in PPWR, RoHS, REACH, TSCA, and Prop 65.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science, or related field.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in chemical compliance, product stewardship, or environmental regulations.
  • Deep expertise in PPWR, RoHS, REACH, TSCA and Prop 65.
  • Experience in consumer electronics manufacturing preferred.
  • Certification such as CPS or similar is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of chemical risk assessment and toxicology principles.
  • Expertise in material declaration systems and compliance databases.
  • Ability to interpret complex global regulations and translate into business requirements.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and supplier engagement.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards, keeping the organization compliant with both current and emerging requirements.
  • Lead compliance programs for PPWR, RoHS, REACH, California Proposition 65, TSCA, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, and emerging regulations. Monitor global regulatory developments and assess business impacts.
  • Ensure products comply with environmental and chemical regulations before market release.
  • Maintain product database of related regulatory information.
  • Communicate with customers such as Amazon to provide compliance documentation and information.
  • Manage substance compliance for raw materials, chemicals, consumables, packaging, and finished products.
  • Evaluate exemptions, restrictions, and sunset dates; develop mitigation strategies. Lead and mentor a team of compliance professionals.
  • Engage suppliers for material declarations and compliance documentation. Support customer audits, regulatory inquiries, and sustainability assessments.
  • Partner with procurement to ensure supplier chemical disclosures and compliance.

The Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability Program Manager is responsible for leading global product environmental compliance and sustainability programs across inMusic product lines. This role ensures products, materials, chemicals, and manufacturing processes comply with environmental regulations and customer requirements while supporting sustainable product stewardship initiatives. The position works cross-functionally with operations, sales, supply chain, engineering, and quality to manage chemical and regulatory risks across products and processes.
