Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Senior Specialist to lead NERC CIP governance across Transmission & Distribution, ensuring audit readiness and proper change control.

You will coordinate with T&D, IT, Corporate Security, and Engineering, driving improvement initiatives and strengthening regulatory performance while protecting sensitive data. Hybrid work model; CA-based; apply via AskHR.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of regulatory filings and compliance standards.
  • Experience with NERC CIP and compliance programs.
  • Demonstrated data analytics and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates positions and drafts regulatory filings to support advocacy efforts.
  • Collaborates with legal to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborates with internal/external parties to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Shares insights with Retail and Government Affairs to define advocacy strategies.
  • Monitors, investigates and reviews compliance evidence for audit readiness.
  • Provides regulatory guidance on growth initiatives including M&A.
  • Identifies industry associations valuable to the company.
  • Participates in regulatory proceedings and filings with appropriate agencies.
  • Protects assets and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

In this job, you’ll provide leadership for NERC CIP compliance governance activities across Transmission & Distribution, ensuring audit readiness, reliable asset and evidence records, disciplined change control, and timely issue remediation. Direct cross‑functional coordination with T&D, IT, Corporate Security, and Engineering. Responsibilities
  • Formulates positions and draft regulatory filings to support advocacy efforts.
  • Collaborates with legal team to ensure all compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborates with various internal and external parties to ensure compliance with the rules set forth by the various regulatory organizations.
  • Shares insights from collaborating with Retail business and Government Affairs team to define advocacy strategies and outreach plans.
  • Monitors, investigates, and reviews compliance evidence in support of compliance activities.
  • Provides regulatory guidance on a variety of key growth initiatives including M and A efforts.
  • Identifies and participates in industry associations that may be valuable to the company.
  • Monitors and participates in regulatory proceedings and governmental matters, and ensure company compliance with regulations and filings.
  • Participates in conducting audit reviews to ensure that the company stays compliant with the policies and standards enforced by relevant agencies.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience with regulatory filings/proceedings and compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Compliance or NERC CIP experience
  • Demonstrated experience with data analytics
  • Experience with process and controls
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
Additional Information
  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
