Primary responsibilities include updating rates and filings, supporting journal entries and deferrals, forecasting revenue and evaluating rate trends, while tracking regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
• 3-5 years’ experience in financial modeling and analysis, and/or regulatory/financial accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask with efficiency and accuracy to meet deadlines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of rate/tariff updates and other compliance filings for the Company’s state-regulated utility divisions.
• Support regulatory accounting and reporting activities, including preparation of journal entries, tracking of activity subject to ratemaking mechanisms, and reconciliation of regulatory deferral accounts.
• Develop and update utility revenue forecasts and revenue requirement models.
• Analysis of customer rates and revenue trends.
• Monitor and communicate ratemaking developments occurring in regulatory proceedings and peer rate cases across the Company’s jurisdictions.

Strategic opportunities:

• Commensurate with experience, help advance the Company’s interests in state proceedings, including the preparation of expert testimony, exhibits and supporting data requests for rate cases.
• Oversee the core responsibilities listed above, and commensurate with experience, support the management and continued advancement of departmental objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
• 3-5 years’ work experience in financial modeling and analysis, and/or regulatory/financial accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask with efficiency and accuracy to meet deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The base salary range for this position is $62,500 – 90,000

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of pay that National Fuel believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
